However, there are other advantages to harnessing natural light to brighten your home in addition to saving money on electricity. It isn't even the largest advantage of this, to be honest. 1. Interior Layout and Partition


Up until recently, open plans were becoming more popular in both #residential and #commercial buildings. This manifests itself in homes as #openkitchens and casual #diningspaces that are connected to living rooms with lots of #windows. Offices without barriers and retail spaces with natural light are becoming more common in commercial buildings.



2. Use mirrors in the halls and rooms to give the impression that the space is larger


#Mirrors can reflect light, which can make a space appear larger. " Mirrors can assist you make the little light you may have in a room look bigger and reflect light," Megha says.  To allow light to bounce about, Megha advises using a combination of floor mirrors, wall mirrors, and even mirrored tabletops or furniture.




3. Use artwork on the walls that is light in colour


Lighter-colored #artwork can also enhance the sense of light in a room. As Megha adds, "Another interesting technique to add light to an otherwise dark space is to allow artwork to be the bright portion of the room." This technique combines #style and usefulness, whether it is used to hang a gallery wall or a single enormous piece of #art.




4. Choose furniture wisely


Having light-colored furniture is undoubtedly one piece of advice that Megha offers, but if you must place a dark piece of #furniture in an area where natural light isn't ideal, choose pieces of furniture that permit light to pass above, below, or even through them.


According to her, having #couches and #chairs that are raised off the ground and have clear windows may open up the space. You may bring more of the existing light into the space and it will assist disperse light around the area.




5. Employ sheer curtains


It may be time to make some home changes, starting with altering the #curtains, if you feel that your house needs more natural light and that the amount entering is not proportionate to your windows. The best curtains for letting in light are sheer ones.


They bring in light and provide the living room or bedroom a #fashionable appearance. Honeycomb blinds can be used to accomplish the same result. This works amazingly well in dark rooms that require lots of natural light, such as those with opaque windows or dark walls.
